Alpha Projects would have an initial six-month window to complete the Phase I refit (80% of all work items) of the vessel.

This entailed an exhaustive overhaul for all shipboard systems and machinery, including the steering and engine controls, main engines, gensets, the navigation systems, and total removal and replacement of fit out in the forward Crews Quarters, The Galley, the Pilothouse and Fly bridge helm stations, the boat deck, the tenders, the fore, aft and cockpit decks.

Additionally, all aspects of the cosmetic appointments of the vessel's interior and exterior were to be removed and replaced from paint and varnish to fabrics, finishes, appliances and 'toys'.

Phases two and three of the five year project involved long-term maintenance-related issues that were to be identified,  prioritized and deferred for scheduling over a three-year program of maintenance and continuous up-grades to the yacht.
